As the Philippine diaspora / Overseas Filipinos and Overseas Filipino Workers OFW / OFWs continue to expand, the need for effective leadership and governance structures that resonate with the experiences and aspirations of these global citizens has never been more critical.

Today's symposium, "𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨 𝙐𝙡𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙧: 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨—𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨 𝙖 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖," sought to initiate a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue among a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives of thirty-five (35) Philippine foreign service posts, government agencies, the academe, and civil society organizations.

The aim is to collectively explore, define, and achieve a consensus on the future direction of the Filipino diaspora so that their needs and contributions are recognized and integrated into national and global frameworks. 🌏🌟🇵🇭

Organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of the Philippines – Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs (DFA-OUMWA) and the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), this event marks the beginning of a series of discussions aimed at shaping a cohesive and empowering strategy for Filipinos worldwide.
